Gary McGrady has been a meteorologist for FOX5 since 2004. While not on the air Gary can be found in the Weather Center at FOX5 preparing forecasts and weather graphics. Gary's fascination with weather started at a young age while growing up in Houston, Texas.
Before moving to Washington D.C. in 2004, Gary led the weather departments at KAMC in Lubbock, Texas and WTVD TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. He also worked at WTVG in Toledo, Ohio and KCBD in Lubbock, Texas.
His coverage of weather over the past 15 years has earned him experience forecasting severe storms in Tornado Alley, blizzards in Northwest Ohio,
and numerous land falling hurricanes while in North Carolina.
Gary has also earned the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. He is a graduate of the Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
Gary and his wife have three children.
