Manhunt underway for serial Family Dollar robber

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities from numerous agencies are working to catch a man suspected in more than 20 armed robberies.

The suspect has mostly targeted Family Dollar stores, but he has also hit other businesses, according to police.

The DeKalb Sheriff's Office serving what they called a "high-risk warrant" at a home on Norwood Road in Atlanta on Friday, but they did not find the suspect.

Police said while they didn't nab their man, they took several others in to custody on weapons charges and suspect drug possession.

They also said that one of the men the arrested on Friday is connected to the man who robs The Family Dollar and Dollar General stores.

Police say they made a big arrest on Thursday, nabbing the alleged get-away driver of that armed robber.

Authorities said that while they're looking for one suspect in particular, he may be part of a robbing crew, and there may be others connected to the crime spree.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call the DeKalb County Police Department at 404-298-8200.
