Bridge dedicated to fallen Gwinnett officer

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

Gwinnett County residents gathered on Monday to remember an officer killed in the line of duty 20 years ago.

A drunk driver struck and killed Officer Chris Magill in 1993.

The Gwinnett Police Department rededicated the bridge on I-85 and Jimmy Carter Boulevard in his honor.

Those who used to work with Officer Magill called the dedication a fitting tribute.

Magill was waiting on a tow driver to arrive on a drunk driving stop when another drunk driver struck and killed him in 1993
