More storms moving into metro area

Posted: Updated:

A line of thunderstorms moving into the area could bring some severe weather on Wednesday night.

FOX 5 Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Ken Cook says a heavy band of storms was moving the western and northwestern part of the metro area around 11:30 p.m. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued until 12:15 a.m. in Chattooga and Floyd counties.

The system could bring heavy rain, intense lightning and possibly hail.

The heavy rain over the past week has caused some flooding concerns.

A Flood Warning is in effect in several counties. CLICK HERE FOR A LIST OF CURRENT WATCHES/WARNINGS IN EFFECT.

More storms could be on the way on Thursday, Ken said.
