North Ga. man takes Clermont Creamery 'dairy' seriously

Posted: Updated:
HALL COUNTY, Ga. -

A north Georgia man says he was only 10 years old when he heard his calling. And, well, it sounded like this – "Moo!"

Now, years later, Scott Glover says he's busier than ever collecting milk money at Mountain Fresh Creamery in Clermont, Ga. – about 73 miles northeast of Atlanta.

Scott said, "Every night before I go to bed, it's a chocolate chip cookie and a glass of milk."

He's a man who truly loves milk of any kind. Just take a glance at his fridge.

"Whole milk, low-fat milk...

"...chocolate milk, butter milk..."

And, that's especially so when the milk is frozen. In lay men's terms: ice cream.

"...either the butter pecan or the salted caramel."

That's why about two years ago this fourth-generation dairy farmer turned his Clermont barn into the Mountain Fresh Creamery.

"Right now, we're producing around 500 gallons a day," he said.

"When we bottle milk, we have it on the shelf ready to sell. Some of it's less than 12 hours old."
