Community meeting held after armed robbers strike at library

ATLANTA -

A northwest Atlanta neighborhood is coming together after armed men robbed visitors and staff at a public library.

Police say two men ambushed patrons inside the Perry Homes Library on Friday.

Victims of the brazen robbery included a small child and a summer intern -- people there to use library resources and for a learning experience..

On Tuesday, Atlanta police joined Atlanta City Councilmember Felicia Moore in a meeting held about that robbery and other similar crimes in the community.

Major Van Hobbs said that police were delayed in their response to the library theft because there was confusion with the address from Fulton County dispatch.

Detectives said they are working leads in the case  and on measures to prevent something like that from happening again.

No one was hurt.
