What goes bump in the night at Six Flag's Fright Fest?

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

Fright Fest's frighteningly all-new experience in Atlanta promises to wake the dead as Six Flags Over Georgia is overrun with zombies, vampires and ghouls for Halloween.

This year, Fright Fest is packing 22 horrifying attractions including five new scare zones, three new haunted attractions and zombie walkers behind every turn.

As darkness falls, Six Flags Over Georgia is transforming from theme park to "extreme scream" park. Here's a list of this year's new attractions

 - Monstrosity Championship Wrestling: It's Frankenstein vs. Dracula or a Werewolf vs. Zombie. Watch monsters of old battle it out!
 - Terror Trail Backwoods Bloodshed: We have two words for you: "Cannibalistic carnivores." The Bloodtown Lumber Yard's backstory is to frightening for words. (Additional fee required)
 - Asylum: Dr. Fright releases the mentally insane from the institution. (Additional fee required)
-- Kill Island: Chaos runs wild in the streets of Six Flags. Groups are formed. Factions begin fighting. Will you survive? (Additional fee required)

And, fear not, there's something for your kiddies, too. By daylight, it's Thrills by Day at Six Flags Over Georgia. Family-friendly Halloween activities for children are on-hand throughout the park. Families can enjoy Bugs Bunny's Spooky Town, filled with ghostly events like trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, spooky story time and other fun surprises.

Fright Fest runs weekends only from September 28 – October 27. It's open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and from noon – 10 p.m. on Sundays. The park is also open 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday, October 18 and 25.

Just more than a month into the Atlanta Hurricane Season, we've already seen one storm make landfall in the United States. And right now, work is happening in North Georgia to keep people safe from the next storm.
