2 shot, 1 beaten outside south Fulton Co. nightclub

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -

Police say an overnight shooting outside a south Fulton County nightclub left one man dead and two other people injured.  Investigators say the scene unfolded at the 50 Yard Line Sports Bar on Old National Highway.

Two people were shot and another was severely beaten, according to police.  One of those victims, Terry Rankins of Stockbridge, was shot in the abdomen.  He was taken to the hospital, but he did not survive.  Witnesses told FOX 5 they saw EMS crews trying to revive him in the parking lot.  

Police say the incident started as an altercation in the parking lot, and eventually it led to gunfire.  They're not sure what started the fight.

Hours later, investigators were still busy processing the large scene outside the club, and they said they had lots of witnesses to interview as they try to determine what happened.
