Looking for a deal for the holidays?  Plenty of shoppers across north Georgia were when they headed out early Friday (or for some, late Thursday) to start their holiday shopping.  Check out pics from Black Friday here!

They came, they saw, they ate, and now-- they shop.  Even the cold weather didn't keep Black Friday shoppers from hitting the stores and malls early Friday, or even late Thursday.

At Lenox Square, there were plenty of sales to be had, and while there were crowds, long lines were missing on Friday afternoon as many stores had opened their doors at midnight. Most of the morning, parking lots ranged from around 70 to 90 percent full as a steady stream of shoppers searched for bargains.

At the North Georgia Premium Outlets, about 70 stores opened their doors to shoppers at 8 p.m. Thursday.  Long lines formed before the stores opened, and continued until about 2 a.m.  Shoppers were still going strong at 6:30 a.m.

Over in Tucker, long lines were missing at Northlake Mall on Friday morning. Some shoppers said they had taken advantage of the early starts that some stores offered on Thursday. While the stores at weren't as crowded as on Black Fridays of the past, most retailers told FOX 5 that sales were up compared to last year.

And in Cobb County, shoppers at Toys "R" Us were searching high and low for the hottest toys of the holiday season. Around 150 people were outside that store when it opened at 5 p.m. on Thursday. A second round of shoppers arrived early Friday for more doorbuster deals.

Of course, shoppers didn't have to wait for Black Friday to get those hot deals.  Many stores opened their doors on Thursday.  That included the BrandsMart in Doraville, where the line of shoppers stretched all the way around the building.  Some people waited in line for up to eight hours in order to be the first through the doors. Some of them were after a deal being offered on 50" TVs, and people were seen hoisting them over their heads on the way to the checkout lanes. Long lines continued at the store on Friday afternoon.
