Stranger donates clarinet to teen who lost everything in fire

SMYRNA, Ga. -

A 14-year-old boy whose family lost everything in an early morning Thanksgiving Day fire is singing a new tune thanks to a generous FOX 5 viewer.

Christian Rosado's family was one of eight families displaced by a fire at the Mission Galleria Apartments off Herodian Way in Smyrna. Fire officials say the fire broke out on the upper level of the three-story around 3 a.m.

Rosado, a freshman at Wheeler High School, and his mother managed to escape the flames, but lost all of their belongings. He told FOX 5 that out of everything, he wished he could have saved his clarinet.

That's where a pair of strangers came in.  After seeing the story on FOX 5, a local couple came forward and donated a new clarinet to Christian.  He says when he got it, the first thing he did was hug them.

The couple wants to remain anonymous, but their efforts to change this teenager's life speak volumes.

The families displaced by the fire are being helped by the Red Cross.  They complex plans on relocating them to new apartments within the next few days.
