ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia headlines in 2013 captured tragedy and corruption, political surprises and new births.

U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss announced that he won't seek a third term in 2014. The Atlanta Braves had an even bigger surprise, unveiling plans to leave downtown for a planned stadium in suburban Cobb County.

Dozens of Atlanta school administrators and teachers face charges of widespread cheating on student tests, and famed Savannah chef Paula Deen's legal troubles weren't criminal, but caused her plenty of problems.

A pair murder trials, meanwhile, ended with convictions and life sentences with no chance of parole - one for a teenager convicted for killing a baby, the other a man who killed eight members of his family.

But all the news wasn't bad: Zoo Atlanta celebrated the birth of Panda twins.
