DEPORTATION ORDERS - Is the White House about to pull the plug on Americas deportation program for illegal immigrants? Late last night the administration announced it is directing Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, to review the United States deporting of illegal immigrants with a goal of finding different ways of enforcing immigration laws. Since President Obama had already said he wanted to wait for Congress to craft legislation the move was unexpected. Under Obama's presidency almost 2 million people have been removed from the U.S. Earning him the nickname "Deporter in Chief" from some Latino groups.

WHAT WAS CIA LOOKING FOR? The heart of the rare public dispute between the US Senate and the Central Intelligence Agency is this key question: What was CIA after? Senator pointed questions to a CIA counsel nominee are highlighting exactly that. Senate Hearings last year over the CIA use of drones may have sparked deep concern in the CIA that it had someone in its own ranks that was feeding information to the Senate Intelligence Committee before Director John Brennan's hearing on the drone controversy. The CIA action in looking into Senate computer networks has accomplish one rare thing: it's brought Democrats and Republicans together against the CIA.

FED PROSECUTOR MISCONDUCT? Are Federal Prosecutors being properly screened by the Justice Department for conflicts of interest? A watchdog organization is critiquing the Justice Department for not discipline hundreds of federal prosecutors who've committed serious misconduct. According to the Project on Government Oversight, there were 650 cases of mostly “reckless” or “intentional” infractions from 2002 - 2013, among those was one incident in which a prosecutor actually had a “close personal relationship” with a defendant. Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee and Democratic Montana Sen. John Tester introduced a bill on Yesterday calling for closer scrutiny of possible prosecutorial misconduct by handing the Inspector General.

UNEMPLOYMENT DEAL - Will the House now join in to restore long term unemployment insurance? Last night Bipartisan Senate negotiators say they've struck a $9.7 billion deal over the issue, agreeing to a 5 month extension paid for by boosting some federal revenues. Approval seemed likely by the Democratic-led Senate when it returns in late March from a weeklong recess. That would throw the issue into the Republican-run House, where its fate is not a sure thing. The benefits would be retroactive to Dec. 28, when the program expired, the expiration wound up halting coverage to more than 2 million people who've been without jobs the longest.
