Braves trim 18 players from Spring Training camp

ATLANTA -

The Atlanta Braves have made some of their spring cuts on Friday. The announcement narrows the Major League camp down to 45 active players.

The organization is reassigning 15 players and optioning three others. Their announces Friday are as follows:

"Right-handed pitcher Aaron Northcraft was optioned to Gwinnett (AAA). Left-handed pitcher Daniel Rodriguez right-handed pitchers J.R. Graham, Jason Hursh, Mark Lamm, Cody Martin and Yunesky Maya were re-assigned to minor league camp. Catchers Matt Kennelly, Braeden Schlehuber, Jose Yepez, infielders Mark Hamilton, Edward Salcedo and outfielder Matt Lipka were also re-assigned to minor league camp."

"The Atlanta Braves trimmed their spring roster by four players after today's game, optioning two players and re-assigning two others. Left-handed pitcher Carlos Perez and right-handed pitcher Wirfin Obispo were optioned to Gwinnett (AAA). Right-handed pitchers Lay Batista and Shae Simmons were re-assigned to minor league camp."

Opening Day is March 31st. The Braves open on the road in Milwaukee before heading to Washington. Their first home game is April 8th hosting the Mets.
