ATLANTA, Ga. -

Authorities arrested a member of one of Atlanta's most notorious street gangs on Thursday.

Brian Kennedy, a member of the violent 30 Deep gang was arrested after U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force's Counter Gang Unit (SERFTF-CGU) and the Atlanta Police Department's Fugitive Unit joined forces to get him off the streets.

Authorities say Kennedy is responsible for four carjackings, six armed robberies, a rape and a shootout on Marietta Boulevard.

SERFTF -CGU Commander Keith Booker said "When this type of blatant violence occurs, the U.S. Marshals will join with our fellow law enforcement agencies to hunt down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. This complete lawlessness and disregard for human life will not be tolerated."

Kennedy was arrested near Jonesboro Road.
