Jefferson Middle 'deemed safe' after bomb threat

Posted: Updated:
JEFFERSON, Ga. - Jefferson Middle School was evacuated due to a bomb threat early Thursday.  According to a post on the school's website, the threat appeared to be a copycat of the Jackson County situation from Wednesday.

The school, on the website, later noted "After a thorough investigation and inspection, JMS has been deemed safe by law enforcement. Students have returned to class and normal operations have resumed."

All students were evacuated to a safe location.
