WASHINGTON -

We are kicking off the week with your spring and summer “kicks.” We have officially shed the winter boots, but as we put on our sandals, maybe getting dressed up donning our heels for graduation and all the parties, I have some products to get you and your tootsies ready.

Just for KiiX

We start off with KiiX heel protectors. Every woman who wears heels knows the heartbreak of scuffing or nicking the back of your heels. One bad step and you ruin your investment.

KiiX are protectors that cover the outer surfaces of the heel to guard against the hazards of everyday wear.

They are easy to apply. Just peel off the backing, follow the directions and put it on the back of your heel. Tear along the perforations to match your heel size and press it all into place.

They are invisible and create a clear barrier between your heels and those hazards. There is no sticky residue or mess. And they fit all different heel sizes.

They have two styles: Clear and Matte. These are not recommended for suede heels.

They are $26.95 for four pair of clear and two pair of matte. Or $10 bucks for two pair of clear KiiX.

Sticky Shoes

How often do you wear shoes that are actually slipping off your feet a little? Here is a brilliant little innovation.

Sticky Shoes is a double-sided durable adhesive strip of tape. You put it inside your shoe and it holds your heel in place. You can use these with flats that are maybe a little stretched out or heels that are slightly big. Whatever pair of shoes you choose, Sticky Shoes will help keep them in place

When I first saw these, I thought you might as well buy double-sided tape! But these strips are thicker and a lot more durable and longer lasting.

They are $9 for a set of 24 strips. More at stickyshoes.com.

Priti NYC

If you are going to plant your feet in sandals, it's time to clean them up.

I'm on an organic kick lately and trying to weed out unnecessary chemicals from the personal care products I use. I found some organic eco-friendly nail care products out of New York called Priti NYC.

They have a line of nail polishes that are vegan -- completely non-toxic. There is no formaldehyde, phthalates or other carcinogenic ingredients.

They have an amazing selection with 100 different gorgeous shades. They also make green apothecary goods like nail polish removers and foot scrubs.

The biggest surprise to me was the soy nail polish remover. It's naturally derived and doesn't have that awful smell that traditional remover has. It has lemon grass essential oil in it so it's actually moisturizing. It was named the best polish remover in Elle magazine's "green beauty stars.”

The line is also safe for kids to use and for women who are pregnant.

$15 for each polish. The remover starts at $13 a bottle. Find them at www.pritinyc.com.
