ROSWELL, Ga. -

A Roswell mother’s heartache takes her to Capitol Hill after her veteran son took his own life.

Twenty-two United States veterans kill themselves every day, according to the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Peggy Portwine tells FOX 5 she believes there’s a link between these suicides and VA wait times.

Portwine says in the past six years, four men from her son’s unit have taken their lives. She’s taking her fight to Washington D.C. and hopes her son’s story will save another family from heartache.
