LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -

The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing in Lawrenceville Thursday afternoon.

According to Gwinnett County Police, the incident started as a domestic dispute at a home on Chris Lake Drive.

Police say 60-year-old Chhay Hour got in a fight with his former wife, 37-year-old Chheng Voight and Voight's mother, 59-year-old Ya Van. The fight began in the dining room of the house.

According to police, the dispute moved outside into the street. A neighbor tells FOX 5's George Franco she witnesses the altercation and called 911.

Voight died after Chhay stabbed her to death. The victim's mother has been taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover.

Chhay fled the scene in a black Lexus SUV, according to police.

Another neighbor claims to have shot at Chhay's vehicle as he was driving away after seeing the dispute, according to police.

Police searched for Chhay for several hours and announced around 7:00 p.m. that the suspect was dead. Police were called out to the Norcross Gun Club and Range on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. Chhay was found inside the building with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to police two young children were at the house and are now staying with relatives.

FOX 5 will continue to update this developing story.
